MV Eileen
During my final semester at SUNY Maritime I took ENG 476 powerboat design. In the previous semister I designed the Carpe Noctem, a sailboat that exceeded the length limits of the class. For my powerboat, I decided I’d design a vessel as short as possible to meet all the design criteria. That led me to design the picnic boat with twin I/O’s; the MV Eileen.
At first glance, this motorboat may not seem out of the ordinary, and in many ways it isn’t. It’s designed for a crew of two, with a V-berth/settee for sleeping and ample stowage for wares below. In the house you’ll find the helm, galley, head, and chart table. Aft of the cabin is a comfy seat for guests and family to enjoy the breeze as the MV Eileen rips across the water.
This project was named after my Grandmother, Eileen Burg. Just like her, the MV Eileen is classy, compact, and won’t tolerate any nonsense. Reliability, resistance, and longevity are at the root of this design. The MV Eileen may not be the largest, but it is equipped with all the essentials. For a crew of two, The MV Eileen is fit for weekend voyages, or even longer adventures. With guests, you can enjoy day trips and dinner cruises. If taken care of, the MV Eileen is bound to be a family heirloom.
In conclusion, the MV Eileen has everything you need in a compact package. Speed, elegance, and tradition make this a real headturner. Whatever your next adventure may be, the MV Eileen is up for the challenge.
